Annual Maintenance Contract
Scheduled, structured maintenance for water and wastewater treatment systems. Planned visits, priority parts access, and direct technical support, under a single annual agreement.
Planned Maintenance. Fewer Surprises. Longer System Life.
Water treatment systems that are regularly and correctly maintained perform better, last longer, and cost less to operate over their lifetime. Without a structured maintenance programme, small issues accumulate into larger failures, energy consumption rises, and output quality becomes inconsistent.
GWT’s Annual Maintenance Contract provides clients with a defined, scheduled maintenance programme delivered by GWT’s technical team across the full contract year. Visits are planned, scope is agreed in advance, and priority access to spare parts and technical support is included as standard.
The AMC is structured for clients who operate their own systems day-to-day but require specialist maintenance expertise, scheduled inspections, and assured access to parts and support throughout the year. It sits between self-managed operations and GWT’s full Operations and Management Contract, giving clients the technical backing they need without transferring day-to-day operational responsibility.
What the AMC Covers
Scheduled Preventive Maintenance Visits: A defined number of planned site visits are carried out by GWT’s technical team throughout the contract year. Visit frequency is agreed at the contract stage based on the size, technology type, and criticality of the system.
During each visit, GWT’s engineers inspect, service, and test key system components. Findings are documented, and a service report is provided to the client following each visit, covering work completed, component condition observations, and any recommended actions.
Preventive maintenance tasks typically cover pump and motor inspection and servicing, membrane integrity checks, filter cartridge and media inspection, chemical dosing system calibration and verification, instrumentation checks and calibration, valve and actuator inspection, electrical panel inspection, and control system review.
Corrective Maintenance and Emergency Response: AMC clients receive priority response for unplanned failures and system faults between scheduled visits. GWT’s technical team is available to diagnose faults, source required parts from local inventory, and carry out corrective works to restore system operation.
Priority scheduling means AMC clients are not placed in a general service queue when urgent support is needed. Response times are defined within the contract to give clients clarity on what to expect when faults occur.
Spare Parts Access: AMC clients benefit from priority access to GWT’s locally held spare parts inventory. Critical components, including pumps, valves, instrumentation, membrane elements, filter cartridges, and electrical components, are stocked locally to support rapid response.
Parts are supplied at agreed rates defined within the contract, removing the uncertainty of unplanned procurement at market rates during an operational emergency. For clients with high availability requirements, a dedicated spare parts holding package can be structured as part of the AMC.
Chemicals and Consumables Supply: Process chemicals and consumables required to support maintenance activities are available through GWT’s supply network. This includes cleaning chemicals for membrane clean-in-place procedures, replacement cartridge filters, and UV lamps, and any other consumables identified during scheduled visits.
Clients can also structure a broader chemical supply arrangement alongside the AMC to consolidate all maintenance and supply requirements under a single GWT agreement.
Performance Review and Technical Advice: Each scheduled visit includes a review of system performance against design parameters. GWT’s engineers assess current output quality, energy consumption, and chemical usage, and identify any trends that indicate emerging performance issues before they develop into failures.
Clients receive practical technical advice on process optimisation, chemical dosing adjustments, and operational practices that can improve system efficiency and extend equipment life between visits.
Annual System Health Report: At the conclusion of each contract year, GWT provides a comprehensive system health report covering the full maintenance history, component condition assessment, performance trends, and recommendations for the year ahead. This report gives clients a clear picture of their system’s condition and a forward-looking maintenance plan to inform budgeting and operational planning.
AMC vs Operations and Management Contract
The AMC and the Operations and Management Contract serve different client needs. Understanding the difference helps clients choose the right level of support.
The AMC is suited to clients who operate their own system day-to-day with in-house staff and require GWT’s support for scheduled preventive maintenance, specialist technical expertise, priority spare parts access, and emergency response. The client retains day-to-day operational responsibility.
The Operations and Management Contract is suited to clients who want GWT to take full responsibility for all aspects of facility operation, including daily staffing, process management, compliance monitoring, chemicals procurement, and maintenance. The client retains ownership while GWT manages everything else.
Both contracts include access to GWT’s local spare parts inventory, chemicals and consumables supply, and technical support. The key difference is the level of day-to-day operational involvement GWT provides.
Why an AMC Makes Sense
Reduced Risk of Unplanned Failures: Scheduled preventive maintenance identifies and addresses developing issues before they cause unplanned downtime. Regular inspections keep components within serviceable condition and reduce the frequency of emergency repairs.
Predictable Maintenance Cost: Annual contract fees replace the unpredictable cost of reactive maintenance. Clients know what their maintenance programme will cost for the year, making budget planning more straightforward and reducing exposure to emergency procurement costs.
Priority Access When It Matters: When an unplanned fault occurs, AMC clients receive priority scheduling ahead of non-contract clients. Combined with locally held spare parts inventory, this means faster fault resolution and shorter downtime windows.
Specialist Expertise on Schedule: Maintaining specialist knowledge of water treatment systems in-house is demanding and expensive. The AMC gives clients regular access to GWT’s technical team without the cost of employing dedicated specialist staff.
Extended System Life: Systems that are regularly and correctly maintained last longer. Consistent preventive maintenance reduces wear on critical components, keeps membranes and filters within performance targets, and avoids the accelerated deterioration that follows from deferred or inconsistent servicing.

Yes. GWT's Annual Maintenance Contract is available for third-party systems. The contract begins with a full system assessment to establish current condition and define the appropriate maintenance scope.
Visit frequency is agreed at the contract stage based on the system type, size, and criticality. GWT recommends a visit schedule based on manufacturer guidelines and operational experience with similar systems.
The AMC covers scheduled maintenance, emergency response, and technical support for clients who manage their own day-to-day operations. The Operations and Management Contract includes full day-to-day operational management by GWT's team. Both provide access to spare parts, chemicals, and technical support.
Parts required for routine maintenance tasks are typically included within the agreed contract scope. Parts required for corrective maintenance following unplanned failures are supplied at agreed contract rates. Specific parts inclusion is defined at the contract stage.
Yes. Clients whose operational needs change during the contract period can discuss upgrading to a full Operations and Management Contract with GWT's team.
