Aftermarket Services

Ongoing supply and support services that protect system performance, extend operational life, and keep water treatment plants running without interruption.

Keeping Your System at Full Performance

A water or wastewater treatment system is a long-term asset. Its performance over time depends not only on the quality of the original installation but on the consistency of support provided throughout its operational life.

GWT’s aftermarket services are structured to give clients access to everything needed to maintain, repair, and improve their systems after commissioning. Whether the original installation was delivered by GWT or by another supplier, our team provides spare parts, chemicals, consumables, repair and refurbishment services, and retrofits to keep systems operating reliably and in compliance with applicable standards.

With over 2,000 systems installed across the UAE and MENA since 1992, GWT understands what it takes to sustain treatment performance over the long term. Our local presence means fast response times, locally stocked inventory, and technical teams that know the region’s operating environments.

What Our Aftermarket Services Cover

Chemicals and Consumables Water treatment systems depend on a consistent supply of the right chemicals and consumables to maintain process performance. GWT supplies antiscalants, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, pH adjustment chemicals, cleaning agents, and disinfection chemicals for RO, STP, ETP, and other treatment systems.

All chemicals are selected and supplied to be compatible with the specific system and source water conditions. Dosing recommendations and technical guidance are provided to ensure correct application and avoid over or under-dosing that can affect system performance and membrane life.

Consumables including filter cartridges, filter media, UV lamps, and membrane elements are stocked locally for rapid availability. Scheduled supply agreements are available for clients who require regular replenishment without managing procurement independently.

Spare Parts Unplanned downtime caused by equipment failure is one of the most disruptive and costly operational events for any treatment facility. GWT maintains a local inventory of critical spare parts covering pumps, valves, pressure vessels, control components, instrumentation, and electrical equipment for the systems it supports.

Parts are sourced from verified suppliers and held to the same quality standards as original equipment. Fast turnaround on parts supply reduces the window between failure identification and system restoration, minimising the impact on operations and compliance.

For clients managing multiple facilities or operating in remote locations, GWT can structure a dedicated spare parts holding agreement to ensure critical components are available on-site or nearby at all times.

Repair and Refurbishment Over time, treatment system components degrade through wear, scaling, fouling, or corrosion. GWT’s technical team carries out inspection, repair, and refurbishment of existing equipment to restore performance and extend service life without the cost of full replacement.

Services include pump and motor overhaul, pressure vessel inspection and re-lining, membrane cleaning and replacement, instrumentation recalibration, and control panel inspection and repair. All repair work is carried out to applicable quality standards with performance verification following completion.

Refurbishment is also available for systems that have been out of service or that require restoration to comply with current regulatory standards. GWT assesses the condition of the existing system and recommends the most cost-effective path to returning it to full operational status.

Retrofits Treatment technology evolves and operational requirements change. Systems installed years ago may no longer meet current discharge standards, energy efficiency expectations, or capacity demands. GWT’s retrofit service upgrades existing installations to improve performance, extend system life, and bring facilities into alignment with current requirements without full replacement.

Retrofit scope can include membrane upgrades to higher rejection or higher flux configurations, addition of energy recovery devices to reduce power consumption, control system upgrades to improve automation and monitoring, integration of additional treatment stages to meet revised discharge or reuse standards, and capacity expansion to accommodate increased flow volumes.

Each retrofit project begins with a full system assessment. GWT’s engineering team identifies performance gaps, recommends the most effective upgrade path, and manages implementation with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Why Ongoing Aftermarket Support Matters

Treatment systems that are not consistently maintained lose performance over time. Membrane fouling increases energy consumption and reduces output quality. Chemical imbalances accelerate equipment wear. Deferred maintenance turns minor issues into major failures.

GWT’s aftermarket services address this directly. Scheduled supply of chemicals and consumables prevents the gaps that cause process upsets. Local spare parts availability shortens the response time when failures occur. Repair and refurbishment services address degradation before it reaches critical levels. Retrofits keep systems aligned with evolving standards and operational needs.

Clients who maintain a structured aftermarket relationship with GWT benefit from lower total cost of ownership, longer system life, and more consistent regulatory compliance over the operational lifespan of their facilities.
